A Dubai-bound private flight from Madurai was diverted to Chennai on Monday after a technical snag was detected mid-air, airport sources were quoted as saying by PTI.
The aircraft, carrying 160 passengers, landed safely at the Chennai airport following the diversion, the sources added. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew.
Airport authorities said the technical issue was being examined to determine the cause of the snag.
The incident comes just days after a Patna-bound SpiceJet flight was forced to return to Delhi shortly after take-off due to a technical issue.
Last week, an Air India flight from Nagpur to Delhi returned shortly after take-off after the pilot reported a suspected bird hit. The aircraft initially sought permission to return, citing engine vibrations.
