Xiaomi recently unveiled the Redmi Watch Move in India. The smartwatch, equipped with multiple health features, is claimed by the company to be its first locally manufactured smartwatch. Redmi Watch Move is offered in four colours — Black Drift, Blue Blaze, Silver Sprint, and Gold Rush. Priced at Rs 1,999, the smartwatch will go on sale on May 1. We have been using the device for a week now and here are its first impressions
Redmi Watch Move design and display
Redmi Watch Move has a 1.85-inch AMOLED display , offering 600 nits brightness. Featuring a sleek 2.5D curved design, the display offers good visibility even for outdoor usage. The screen is bright and easy to read. There is also an Always-on display feature on the smartwatch, giving quick and easy access to essential updates.
On the design front, the smartwatch has a square-shaped dial with curved edges. There is a power button/crown on the right. Below it is the microphone. The rear side of the Redmi Watch Move is equipped with sensors to measure health vitals. The device charges using a pogo pin charger.
Black Drift, Blue Blaze, Silver Sprint, and Gold Rush are the colour variants of the device that a buyer can choose from. We received the Silver Sprint variant which looks decent.
Redmi Watch Move performance and battery
Setting up the smartwatch is easy. Power it up and simply scan the QR code displayed on the screen to download the app. Follow the in-app instructions and you are set. Redmi Watch Move runs on Xiaomi HyperOS . The UI of the device is easy to navigate through. A single click on the crown opens the main menu. Rotating the crown helps you navigate through it. The smartwatch is capable of syncing notes, tasks, calendar events, and even real-time weather updates.
Redmi Watch Move comes equipped with more than 140 workout modes and is claimed to deliver 98.5% tracking accuracy powered by Xiaomi R&D. The smartwatch can be used to track heart rate, SpO₂, stress, and sleep cycles — including REM — offering deep insights into both day and night wellness. It also offers menstrual cycle tracking. During our testing, we find the tracking data to be nearly accurate. What is an addition is that the watch offers real-time feedback.
On the battery front, Xiaomi claims Redmi Watch Move can last up to 15 days for an average usage and up to 5 days with Always-On display feature turned on. More about the battery performance in our detailed review.
At Rs 1,999, Redmi Watch Move comes with IP68 rating which means it can withstand dust and water. With a sleek design, reliable fitness tracking, and a bright AMOLED display, the smartwatch is a strong value-for-money option that one can opt for.
