COLORFUL Technology has unveiled the CVN X870 ARK FROZEN, its first AMD X870 motherboard designed specifically for the new Ryzen 9000 Series processors. The motherboard features military-inspired aesthetics resembling an aircraft carrier with frost gray heatsinks and a titanium gray PCB. Orange accents and carrier runway-inspired M.2 heatsink designs complete the distinctive visual identity.
Built to maximize the performance of AMD's flagship Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor, the motherboard implements a robust 14+2+1 power phase design. It includes high-end networking capabilities with 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, plus support for low-latency 6400MHz C28 memory.
A key feature for gamers is the new X3D Game Mode in the updated BIOS, which provides optimized configurations for competitive gameplay. The motherboard also introduces the CVN Pullout Switch, a rear latch system that enables easy graphics card removal without damaging the PCB.
Technical specifications include an AMD AM5 socket supporting Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors, four DDR5 DIMM sockets with up to 192GB total memory capacity, and multiple expansion options. Storage capabilities feature four SATA3.0 6Gb/s ports and three M.2 SSD slots, including two PCIe 5.0 x4 connections.
The ATX-format motherboard measures 245mm x 305mm and offers comprehensive connectivity including USB 4 Type-C, multiple USB 3.2 and 2.0 ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, and 7.1-channel HD audio.
