Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has hinted what the podium could look like at the upcoming Miami Grand Prix . The former car racer has said the high temperatures could once again make things slightly difficult for Red Bull. He said the Miami race could be in McLaren’s favour once again, just like what happened in Jeddah. The Miami Grand Prix is scheduled for May 2-4 and will also have the second F1 Sprint of the season.

Sharing his learnings, he wrote in his column for Speedweek, “Once again, we’re talking about a completely different track, but above all, we’re expecting higher temperatures. On paper, that’s not an advantage for us. In Jeddah, we were eight-tenths behind McLaren in the third practice session, in significantly warmer conditions than later in qualifying. We and the other opponents expected McLaren to drive away from everyone. But that didn’t happen.”
Talking about the upcoming race, he added, “In Miami, we still expect the conditions to be more in McLaren’s favour. Our task at the moment is to develop a broader working window for our race car, and also to reduce certain weaknesses of the car before the races in Europe and thus improve the basic speed of the car.”
The last race in Jeddah had McLaren driver Oscar Piastri emerging as the winner. Max Verstappen took second spot, while Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc won his first podium of the season in third. Piastri is leading the Driver Standings with three wins and 99 points. In second place is his teammate Lando Norris with 89 points, and Max Verstappen is third with 87 points.

Norris had clinched his first-ever Formula 1 win at the Miami Grand Prix last year. He has won 5 races since then, including one this season at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. The current order of the Driver Standings can undergo an overhaul in Miami, as it will also host an F1 Sprint race, after the first was held in Shanghai.
