"Happy birthday to the Volpedo" - Fans shower birthday wishes on Yankees shortstop after amazing performance against Blue Jays

It's the New York Yankees shortstop ’s birthday and fans cannot stop gushing over it. The cherry on top is that the said shortstop played an important role in bringing victory to the Yankees in Sunday's match against Toronto Blue Jays.

As Anthony Volpe turns another year wiser, fans are hoping that he maintains his performance streak and brings more such victories for the team.

One user went on to wish, “Happy birthday to the Volpedo!!!” a sweet nickname given to the 24-year old by the fans.


Another fan went on to wish, “Aye, happy bday to the future GOAT!” referring to Volpe as the future star player of the Yankees. Though it might seem like too big of a title, seeing Volpe’s recent performance, there's a high chance that he will become the ultimate face of the Yankees in the near future.


One fan went on to say, “Happy birthday king,” expressing gratitude for the way he handled pressure and helped Yankees win the match against the Blue Jays.


Anthony Volpe's 180-degree switch in performanceOn April 27, when the Yankees faced the Blue Jays, fans were not expecting Volpe to perform the way he did. With only 3 at-bats, Anthony had two hits, made two runs, and even bagged a home run. The sudden switch in his performance did not go unnoticed by fans, and many went ahead to praise the young player.


Looking into Volpe’s 2025 stats, he had a total of 101 at-bats, of which he scored 5 home runs, and achieved 17 RBI. To top it off, his stats started changing spontaneously, thanks to his recent switch in performance.


His recent performance improved his batting average to .228, OBP to .325, and OPS to .771, which is a marvelous improvement. However, what remains to be seen is whether Anthony will be able to continue this hitting streak or drop it after his birthday month ends.
