Kanpur: Around 80 people fell ill after consuming food at a pre-wedding celebration at Sataura village in Mahobkanth police station limits area of Mahoba district on Sunday night. The victims, after having the food, started complaining of stomach ache, diarrhoea and vomiting and were taken to hospital.
On being informed, the SDM, chief medical officer, and health officials arrives at the location for assessment. A medical facility was established at the spot and the CMO started enquiries.
The wedding of Sandeep, son of Surendra of Sataura village, is scheduled on April 29. During a pre-wedding event at his house on Sunday night guests were served a meal, After some time in night the guests started showing severe symptoms. They were admitted to Panwari community health centre and the district hospital, where medical staff confirmed their condition to be stable.
SDM Anurag Prasad and CMO Dr Asharam set up a medical facility and the CMO announced an investigation into the matter.
The SDM said that all the affected people were stable. Health authorities have been instructed to operate regular medical facilities in the village for three successive days to observe residents' health.
