IAS officer Smita Sabharwal, who reshared AI image of land near University of Hyderabad (UoH) transferred

HYDERABAD: Senior IAS officer Smita Sabharwal , who was recently issued a police notice as a witness over the resharing of an AI-generated image depicting a 400-acre land parcel near the University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been transferred.

The Telangana government has posted her as the Member Secretary of the State Finance Commission.

Sabharwal had been serving as Principal Secretary for Youth Affairs, Tourism, and Culture.

In a broader reshuffle of IAS officers on Sunday night, the government also appointed Shashank Goel, Director General of Dr MCR HRD Institute, as the Vice Chairman of the Centre for Good Governance.

Jayesh Ranjan, special chief secretary for IT and Sports, has been posted as the CEO of the Industry and Investment Cell in the Chief Minister’s Office.

Among other changes, GHMC Commissioner Ilambarithi K was appointed Secretary of the Metropolitan Area and Urban Development Department (within HMDA limits), while RV Karnan, previously Director of Health and Family Welfare, was named the new GHMC Commissioner.
