The Northumberland coast is a great holiday destination for Brits wanting a tranquil escape. The beautiful region is home to many stunning towns and villages, which draw in millions of visitors every year.

Bamburgh and Seahouses are two of Northumberland's tourism hotspots, with Bamburgh being famed for its iconic castle and sandy beach, while Seahouses is known for its bustling harbour and variety of activities it offers. However, there is another beautiful seaside resort in Northumberland that is often overlooked by the crowds of tourists.

Nestled on the North Sea coast is the charming town of Amble. Home to low dunes, a picturesque harbour, and a vibrant retail district, Amble is a hidden gem waiting to be explored.

The gorgeous spot, also dubbed the "friendliest port in England," has plenty of activities for a fun family day out or a relaxing staycation.

Amble Harbour Village is made up of colourful beach huts, the Northumberland Seafood Centre, and pods where you can purchase gifts, jewellery, crafts, food, and drinks.

One visitor who described the town as "beautiful" on TripAdvisor, praised Amble for its scenery, hospitality, and activities.

They wrote: "Amble is so beautiful. The people are so friendly. The walk to Warkworth was stunning. Lots of places to eat, top quality, the harbour is so pretty, the sunday market was fab. We loved an ice cream at Spurellis, a walk across the pier, the pods are also lovely. We had fish and chips from the harbour fish bat so fresh and tasty.

"We did the Puffin cruise and it was wonderful (we have been 3 times now on previous visits) it's a great experience. Our favourite place Amble, perfect base too for exploring Northumberlands coast. So beautiful."

Adventurous travellers should pay a visit to the watersports haven that is Coquet Shorebase Trust. Sport enthusiasts, can take advantage of the many activities it offers from kayaking to raft building.

However, enjoy a wander along the pier and as well as the town centre is a must, as it allows you to really take in all of Amble's beauty and charm.
