Steve Martin, the 80 year old star of Only Murders In The Building, has been forced to cancel his latest shows due to illness. The actor was scheduled to perform on stage with Martin Short on Friday, but had to announce the disappointing news that they had to postpone their performances.
The comedy duo took to social media to inform fans that their show, The Dukes Of Funnytown!,at The Dome in Virginia Beach had to be cancelled. They also had to call off Saturday's performance at Richmond's Allianz Amphitheater at the Riverfront.
This announcement follows a post by Steve showing a positive COVID-19 test result. He explained that the show simply couldn't proceed due to his condition.
"Dear Virginia Beach and Richmond. Sadly, I have come down with Covid. I can't possibly do the show that you deserve," he wrote. "So Marty and I must cancel tonight and tomorrow. But we will return under better circumstances [sad face emoji].", reportsThe Mirror.

His announcement prompted a flurry of well wishes from friends and fans. Rita Wilson responded with a simple: "Feel better!" while Brad Garrett echoed the sentiment.
One fan humorously commented: "Get well soon, man. Downloaded the picture and will send it Monday morning to work, time to take the boat out -Thx!".
This is the second time the pair have had to cancel shows due to COVID. In February, they had to pull two shows after Martin contracted the virus following his attendance at the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary special.
At the time, Steve quipped that Martin had shared a smooch with Maya Rudolph. "Maya had Covid. Marty has Covid. I wonder why? The SNL 50th Covid curse is real," he jested.
Alongside their tour, the pair have recently appeared together on Only Murders In The Building.
It's reported the programme is set for another series after being commissioned for a fifth season at Hulu.
Viewers have all shared the same response to a fresh guest star introduced in the newest episode of the crime comedy, which dropped this week.
The fourth instalment of season five, entitled Dirty Birds, sees the podcasting threesome Mabel (portrayed by Selena Gomez), Oliver (Martin Short) and Charles (Steve Martin) surprisingly entertaining the three enormously wealthy prime suspects in their current murder probe.
After uncovering a clandestine gambling den beneath the Arconia, they're persuaded that three influential billionaires, Jay Pflug (Logan Lerman), Bash Steeg (Christoph Waltz) and Camila White (Renee Zellweger) are somehow linked to the killing of cherished doorman Lester (Teddy Coluca).
