Manchester United will take on Brighton at Old Trafford today, having won two consecutive Premier League matches for the first time in the Ruben Amorim era. The Red Devils stunned Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield last Sunday off the back of a 2-0 victory over Sunderland.
United rode their luck against Arne Slot's side and were lucky to come out on top as Liverpool were guilty of missing a hatful of chances. But the back-to-back wins will surely have instilled a newfound confidence into the United players, who will be looking to build on their momentum against the Seagulls.
Express Sport's writers decide how the United manager should line up against Fabian Hurzeler's side...
Tom ParsonsLammens; Shaw, De Ligt, Maguire; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha.
Amorim was criticised by some after opting to leave £74million summer signing Benjamin Sesko out of the starting team at Anfield. But his decision paid off as Matheus Cunha worked his socks off and provided an attacking threat in a forward line that also included Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount.
Mount appears to be held in the highest regard by every manager he plays for, while Mbeumo has been United's most dangerous player during the early stages of his Old Trafford career. So the Portuguese coach shouldn't disrupt that attacking unit.
In fact, Amorim would be unwise to tinker with his team at all. It might be a cliche, but why change a winning team? United look much stronger all across the pitch than they did for much of last season, with Senne Lammens proving to be a calming presence in between the sticks. And the likes of Harry Maguire and Casemiro are even enjoying a new lease of life following difficult spells for the duo.
Lammens; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha.
United have just secured back-to-back victories for the first time in a long while, so why would they change their team?
The feel-good factor is still high from last weekend's triumph over Liverpool and it would make sense to field an unchanged side against Brighton, even if that means leaving Sesko on the bench again.
The attacking trio of Mbeumo, Mount and Cunha did an excellent job at Anfield and they will be hoping to power the Red Devils to a similar result against the Seagulls.
Dan BurnhamLammens; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha.
A wise man once said you don't change a winning team, and now more than ever it makes little sense for Amorim to start tinkering with his XI.
The United boss finally has a sliver of momentum to grab onto and shoehorning Sesko in purely because he's the big £74m summer signing would be shooting himself in the foot.
Last time I checked, football was played on grass and price tags don't win matches. Amorim should make the most of the luxury he has in not having to worry about rotating for a busy, European-packed schedule.
Lammens; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha.
After such a positive result at Anfield last time out, it seems fitting that Amorim would stick with the same team, where possible.
The extent of injuries to Maguire and Mount are unknown and it could be a little bit of a risk to feature the latter considering his fitness issues. However, if fit, I feel that United could benefit once more from that strikerless system.
Sesko could easily be reintroduced to the starting XI but I feel Cunha was impressive against Liverpool and is not far from his first goal for the Reds.
