has made a comeback and fans had the same reaction just minutes into tonight's episode.
Former Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa has returned as the iconic Time Lord for episode four, Lucky Day, which kicks off with him travelling back to London on New Year's Eve 2007.
It is here that he meets a youngster called Conrad and presents him with a 50p coin, telling him this was his "lucky day" and from then on, he becomes obsessed with the Doctor.
Fast-forward around 10 years and Conrad (played by Jonah Hauer-King) is a podcast host, dedicating his life to talking to people about those who have met the Time Lord.
It is then at this moment that he introduces his next guest, and as the camera pans around, fans discover that it's none other than Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson).
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one thrilled fan wrote: "I've missed 15 and Ruby Sunday so much - iconic duo", with another stating: "I love Ruby Sunday".
A third remarked: "It's so nice to see ruby Sunday back again", with a fellow fan stating: "Ruby is back!"
Someone else then shared: "I've really missed Ruby."
Agreeing with this sentiment, another user commented: "I'm loving that they've brought Ruby back and actually given her a f*****g brain.
"I feel like she finally has actual thoughts and emotions and i'm so happy for Millie Gibson, because she's a brilliant actress."
Talking about her return to the iconic BBC sci-fi drama, actress Gibson told Doctor Who TV: "It feels like returning home after a long day.
"It's so nice to be back playing Ruby Sunday in a whole new light. As Ruby grows up, so do I."
She continued: "In season two, you see more of a mature and stronger version of Ruby.
"She's recovering from her season one adventures, and you see her learn to deal with that a bit.
"I'm really excited to be back, it was a fun few episodes to read for Ruby."
