Coco Gauff revealed that she had to shower in the dark after the Madrid Open was affected by a mass power cut. The world No. 4 luckily managed to win her fourth-round match moments before the lights went out inside the Caja Magica, with the power going out in the middle of her on-court interview.
However, the outage affected Gauff's post-match commitments. The American shared footage from inside the women's locker room, which was pitch black except for one emergency light away from the shower area.
