Fred and Rose West are two of Britain's most prolific serial killers, having murdered at least 12 people between 1967 and 1987.
The couple often tortured and sexually abused their victims before dismembering their bodies and burying them in the cellar or garden of their Gloucester home - 25 Cromwell Street.
After admitting to at least 12 murders, Fred took his own life in police custody in January 1995. The case still went to trial, where Rose was eventually convicted of 10 murders in November of that year.
's Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story delves deep into heinous crimes committed by the pair, who were married from 1972 to 1995.
Here, we look into just a few of the disturbing moments that emerged from the three-part documentary.
The documentary features unearthed tapes between the police and Fred, who confessed to murdering one of his own children. Authorities began digging up 25 Cromwell Street after repeatedly hearing a rumour from the West children that their sister was buried under the patio.
Heather West, 16, hadn't been seen since 1987, with Fred admitting he never reported her as missing. During the police interview, Fred claimed he never wanted to hurt his daughter, but simply wanted to persuade her to remain at home.
Fred eventually confessed to murdering his daughter with an electric cable. Needing to dispose of her body, Fred said he went to the cupboard to find something to cut her up with.
Asked what item he used, Fred declared: "The bread knife."
While every act committed by Fred and Rose West was pure evil, the death of Shirley Anne Robinson was particularly hard to listen to. Born in Leicestershire, Shirley ended up being a lodger in the Wests' home, before becoming Fred's lover.
In the tapes, Fred branded Shirley "the girl who caused the problem". Shirley was 18 when she fell pregnant with Fred's baby and threatened to tell Rose the truth about who the father was.
Fred revealed he "smacked her straight in the jaw" before strangling her to death. He also disposed of the baby's body.
Shirley's body and her unborn child were found buried in the garden at 25 Cromwell Street.
You often hear about the victims whose lives were cut short thanks to Fred and Rose West, but it is rare to hear from someone who escaped the couple.
Caroline Owens was a nanny for the West family, but was also one of their first known victims. While she was on the way to see her boyfriend, Fred and Rose West approached Caroline in their car. Despite concerns the couple were angry with the way she left, Caroline said she never thought they would harm her. "So I got in the car," she recounted.
Carol was attacked before being blindfolded, bound and gagged. She was taken back to 25 Cromwell Street, where she was repeatedly raped. Thankfully, she managed to escape.
Caroline was crucial in convicting Rose, as police struggled to find evidence linking her to the other crimes.
In a shocking revelation, it was revealed Fred and Rose did not face prison time for the assault on Caroline in 1973.
"The level of abuse was much more serious than the way it was actually dealt with in the magistrates, when really it involved rape. It should have been indicted and gone to crown court," said Leo Goatley, Rose's solicitor.
The couple walked away with a mere £25 fine.
Caroline said: "What they did was evil. It was almost like, 'We've got away with it. But only by the skin of our teeth. So next time they've got to die'."
In a heartbreaking confession, Caroline pondered whether she could have saved the lives of the other women, had she originally pushed the rape charge.

Fred and Rose West had 10 children between them. Fred sexually assaulted his daughters on numerous occasions, including Mae West, born in 1972. While Fred was in police custody, he discovered Mae informed the police about the abuse she suffered. In the tapes, Hazel Savage read Mae's statement to Fred.
"About 1985 my dad began to touch both myself and Heather in an indecent manner. He would touch me on a daily basis. Heather and I decided that when dad first started touching us, that we would never give in. And we were both determined about it." Fred simply responded: "No comment."
Jayne Hammer, a lodger at the West home, recalled hearing Fred abusing one of his daughters, though it is not known which one.
She said: "I heard, 'Stop it daddy, stop it daddy.' It was very high-pitched. So I put it to the back of my mind and then a few nights later I heard the same thing. The third time it was much clearer. That's when I made my decision to leave."
Jayne explained she never went to the police because she didn't think anyone would believe her.
Of the 12 confirmed victims of Fred and Rose, Charmaine West was the youngest. She was the daughter of Fred's first wife Rena Costello, who was also murdered by the serial killer.
Although she was caring at first, Rose soon became violent, regularly beating Charmaine. On one occasion, Rose made her stand on a chair in the kitchen with her hands behind her back for hours. Just two months after Rose gave birth to Heather, Fred was imprisoned for theft. During his time in prison, which lasted until June 1971, an eight-year-old Charmaine vanished.
Charmaine's body was discovered in Fred and Rose's former home on Midland Road, Gloucester in 1994. Police found it difficult to determine the exact time she died, but knew she was likely murdered by Rose while Fred was behind bars.
It's believed Rose kept her the child's remains until Fred was released from prison and could bury her in the garden.
