Tottenham suffer fresh double injury worry after Lucas Bergvall spotted on crutches

Tottenham have been left sweating on the fitness of Dominic Solanke and after the attacking duo were forced off in the second half of Spurs' 3-0 semi-final win over Bodø/Glimt. The two England stars were both on target for Ange Postecoglou's spirited side, though there is still a job to finish next week in the Arctic Circle.

Brennan Johnson had nodded ahead inside the opening 40 seconds before Maddison snuck in behind the Norwegian's backline before applying a clever finish.

Dominic Solanke added a third in the second half when he coolly converted a penalty following a VAR check after Cristian Romero had been fouled.

Shortly after that goal, Maddison hit the deck and immediately pointed towards the back of his hamstring, suggesting he'd felt some discomfort. Once he'd been consulted by Spurs' physio, he made the swift decision to exit the field and did not even attempt to continue.

Postecoglou intimated that both issues shouldn't be too serious, but the Australian boss and the club's supporters now face a nervous wait for potential scan results.

Postecoglou's side had already been rocked by Lucas Bergvall's injury after the young Swede, who signed a new deal on Wednesday, rolled his ankle in training.

Bergvall was therefore a late absentee and probably would have started this match but as the teams walked out, the talented playmaker was spotted walking to the Tottenham bench on crutches in a rather worrying sight.

Spurs will hope his season is not over but given we are now into May, even the smallest of lay-offs could seriously prohibit his chances of featuring again this campaign.

Tottenham will be determined to book their place in the Europa League final, where they could meet in Bilbao on May 21, next week when they take a two-goal lead to Scandinavia after Ulrik Saltnes' late strike offered Bodo hope.
