The One Show presenter Alex Jones was forced to cut off a guest mid-interview after producers urged her to 'move on' from the conversation.

Alex returned to TV screens with co-host Roman Kemp on Monday (28th April), and the duo were joined by celebrity guests Elaine Paige, and Amanda Holden on the One show.

Elaine discussed her incredible career while Giovanni shared details of her new podcast, followed by Amanda giving fans an update on her two new TV projects.

It was during Amanda's interview that Alex was forced to interrupt, as she was urged to change the subject before time ran out.

Amanda had been discussing her new show, Cheat: Unfinished Business, which sees her team up with relationship expert Paul C. Brunson, known for starring on Married At First Sight.

The TV personality teased the new reality series as an "absolute rollercoaster" and promised Netflix viewers plenty of "chaos".

Alex was clearly eager to hear more about the show, but told Amanda: "I've got so many questions, but we are being told 'Move on!'"

Amanda laughed at the interruption, prompting Alex to switch the conversation to the new BBC game show, The Inner Circle, which Amanda hosts.

"There's a quiz show that you've done...," Alex began, with Amanda joking: "Oh, the quiz show! Oh, it's because it's for the BBC! Who's upstairs asking?!"

Amanda's comment prompted everyone to laugh, with the judge then sharing some details about the new game show, which is due to premiere later this year.

"Yes, I've just finished filming. I was thrilled to be asked to do it, because I've never thought about doing anything like that before," Amanda began.

She went on to explain how the show looks at "human nature" and winners must decide whether to share their earnings or take them for themselves.

"It's called The Inner Circle. It's a general knowledge quiz. It's a cross between The Weakest Link, Golden Balls, all kinds of shows. Again, it's about human nature because at the end you get a pot of money and you're working with a person. It's about whether you split, or shaft," she added.

Amanda then quipped; "And it's general knowledge... I'm like, 'Why have you got me to host?!' but, I wore some fabulous frocks!"

The One Show airs on weekdays on BBC One at 7pm
