After indulging a little too heavily over Easter, is hitting reset. The Pitch Perfect star, 45, who famously shed over 36kg during her widely-publicised “Year of Health” in 2021, has embarked on a fresh six-week health challenge - this time focusing on ditching her sweet cravings.
Sharing her journey with fans via , the Australian actress revealed that giving up her favorite treats hasn’t been easy. “The first few days were honestly tough,” Rebel confessed. “Giving up chocolate and ice cream - I wanted it so badly!”
Despite a few slip-ups, Rebel is celebrating her progress, emphasizing that perfection isn’t the goal. “I didn’t give in to the sweets, but I did have a few unhealthy things. Still, I was eating way better than I had in weeks. That’s a win in my book.”

Her commitment is already paying off, with the actress revealing she dropped a kilogram in the first week. “It’s not about the number,” she explained, “but clearly, I was eating way too many before I started!”
Rebel first decided to overhaul her health years ago after a fertility doctor encouraged her to prioritize wellness in order to improve her chances of starting a family. Speaking to fans in a past Instagram Live, she said, “It wasn’t even really about me - it was thinking about a future mini-me. That’s what really kickstarted it.”
This new challenge isn’t just about food. Rebel is taking a holistic approach, encouraging her 11 million followers to join her by not only cutting back on indulgences but also adding something beneficial for their mental or physical health. “This week, I’m writing down five things every night that I’m grateful for,” she said.
She officially launched the challenge in a light-hearted Instagram video, where she wore a bunny suit and admitted, “I may have had, like, a dozen Cadbury Creme Eggs.”
Struggles with temptation have followed her beyond the Easter weekend. “May or may not be on the train thinking of chocolate and ice cream,” she teased in a candid Instagram Story, “but no, I haven’t broken the challenge... though it is challenging!”
Rebel has also been vocal in the past about her relationship with food and appetite, telling The Sunday Times that she understands the appeal of medications like Ozempic. “Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets,” she said, “so I think those drugs can be helpful.”
Back during her Pitch Perfect days, Wilson revealed that she wasn’t even allowed to lose weight due to contractual obligations. “It was literally in my contract,” she’s said. But once that chapter ended in 2017, she began focusing more seriously on her health.
As she enters this new chapter of self-care, Wilson’s challenge feels less like a strict diet and more like a mindful reset. “So I’m giving up chocolate and ice cream. What are you giving up?” she asked her fans. “Let’s do something good for ourselves.”
