There were worrying scenes on with Bear on Wednesday night, ahead of a huge new storyline for the character.
Soap producer Laura Shaw recently told The that something big was planned for the character, but it was remaining under wraps until further down the line. What is known is that Paddy Kirk's father will disappear for a while.
When he returns there's something very different about Bear, with it set to spark a huge mystery with villagers and viewers tuning. No details have been revealed on the plot or what it paves the way for, but boss Laura told us fans will be asking what has happened.
Bear is currently on the show and in the village, but it seems the latest episode may have been the start of his storyline. Bear was seen assuming his son Paddy and Paddy's partner Mandy Dingle wanted him to leave their home.
With Liam Cavanagh having moved out, he assumed he wasn't wanted around. When Mandy and Paddy moved Bear's things into Liam's old room, Bear got the wrong end of the stick.
Bear saw the boxes of Liam's things and wrongly assumed they were his belongings, and that he was being kicked out. He lashed out at Paddy and Mandy for the second day in a row, fleeing the house.

He claimed: "You can't wait to get shot of us, can you?" leaving them both confused. He'd said that all his stuff was gone, not realising it was now in the bigger room.
Mandy and Paddy soon explained everything to him later after finding him sitting alone in the playground area, looking downcast. He'd apparently been sat there for two hours, while when they mentioned this he told them to leave him alone.
Bear then accused them of wanting to kick him out onto the street, but he was shocked to realise he had got it wrong as Paddy and Mandy comforted him. Embarrassed, he said: "What am I like, eh? I'm sorry son. I really thought you wanted shot of us and it hurt, cos I'm fond of my little family.
"And I know I came late to it but I were heartbroken at the thought it were ending." It comes after Emmerdale Producer Laura told us that Bear will take centre stage in a worrying new storyline that sees him disappear for a period of time. When he returns to the village it’s clear something has gone on, as the village resident is acting out of character and is not the man he was.
Laura said: "Coming up this summer and into autumn, the character of Bear has a big story coming up for him. He is going to go offscreen for a little while. He goes missing and when he comes back, what you'll see is a very different Bear in a really different situation. We're all going to be watching and going, 'what the hell has happened here', that's really exciting."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on , , , , , and .
