Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): As part of the preparations for the SimhasthaMahaparv 2028, Collector Raushan Kumar Singh conducted an inspection of Ujjain and nearby railway stations on Friday, accompanied by senior officials from the Railway department.
The Collector began his visit at Ujjain Junction, the city’s main railway station, and continued via a special inspection coach to Vikram Nagar, Naikhedi, Pingleshwar, Chintaman Ganesh, and other surrounding stations. He directed that holding areas with sufficient capacity be established at each station to manage the anticipated influx of passengers.
He instructed that separate arrival and departure routes be designated, and seamless connectivity from the stations to the fairgrounds be ensured.
During the inspection, key proposals, such as expansion of an additional platform at Chintaman Ganesh station; construction of a new railway over-bridge (ROB) on the level crossing en route to the Shani Temple from Chintaman; construction of a 10-metre-wide connectivity road to link Pingleshwar station from both sides; a second underpass near the currently under-construction one at Pingleshwar; development of a service road connecting Panwasa flag station to the NHAI route; extension of the service lane from platform 2 to Maksi Road; expansion of the platform at Naikhedi station; provision of separate entry and exit points, approach roads on both sides, and a new ROB at Naikhedi and construction of service roads on both sides of the under-construction ROB at Mohanpura railway crossing were discussed.

From the Railways, the team had Simhastha Mela Officer Kunjilal Meena, senior divisional commercial manager of Western Railway (Ratlam Division) Heena V. Kevalramani, senior divisional engineer (coordination) Piyush Pandey and senior divisional operations manager Alok Chaturvedi along with other senior officials.
