He also praised Shastri's unparalleled contribution to the nation, mentioning his key initiatives such as land reforms, the foundation for the dairy and green revolutions, and improvements in the transportation sector.
In a post on X, Kharge said, " In 1965, at a village gathering in Allahabad, Lal Bahadur Shastri ji had said that -- "In the 10-12 years of independence, the country has made progress that did not happen in 200 years of British rule. Airplanes and motor vehicles are being made here. New dams, new canals are being built, hospitals, schools, and roads are being constructed."
