The world is changing rapidly and Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become the biggest example of this. Now its effect is visible on school studies as well. Especially a country like South Korea has taken a big leap in this. Many schools there have now started using AI-based digital textbooks for studies. It is believed that this change can bring a big turn in the traditional education system.

Students are learning from AI textbooks

According to reports, from March 2025 till now, about 30 percent of schools in South Korea have included AI textbooks in their courses. These books are for students from primary to high school and have started with subjects like English and Mathematics. These AI textbooks can adjust the content according to the understanding, level and needs of the children. That is, every student can be taught according to his learning pace.

Training of teachers is also a challenge

However, some challenges have also come up with this new system. The biggest challenge is the training of teachers. To properly use AI based textbooks, teachers need understanding and skills of new technologies. For this, the South Korean government has also started special training programs so that teachers can adapt themselves with this change.

Deliberation on the role of AI in colleges

While such big changes are taking place in schools regarding AI, the higher education sector is also not untouched by it. Experts from all over the world are discussing how AI can be included in colleges and universities as well.

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman believes that it is no longer possible to ignore AI. He says that students are now completing tasks like assignments and essays with the help of AI tools, so traditional methods of evaluation are no longer as effective.

AI can be a 'co-examiner' in the future

Hoffman suggests that in the future AI can be given the role of co-examiner in examinations. Also, oral exams can be given more importance because this can test the understanding of students in a better way.

He also said that essays prepared by AI can be used as examples. To show that just giving general information is not enough, depth and analysis is necessary.

South Korea has taken a step towards a new direction by incorporating AI in education. This change will not be limited to just one country. If this model is successful, then more countries can follow this path in the future. Also, it is certain that both schools and colleges will have to change their thinking and methods regarding AI. Now the question is not just whether AI should be adopted or not, but how to adopt it in a better way.
